As an art academy, the weißensee kunsthochschule berlin plays a leading role in the “Matters of Activity” cluster of excellence, which is located at Humboldt University. The aim of the cluster is to create the basis for a new culture of materials. Biology and technology, mind and material, nature and culture intertwine in a new way. Central concerns are the interdisciplinary research and development of sustainable practices and structures in areas such as textiles, materials and digital filters, surgical cutting techniques, architecture and soft robotics. The cluster focuses on a new role of design, which will be developed against the background of a growing diversity and the continuous development of materials and visualization forms in all disciplines.
In this context, Prof. Dr. Regine Hengge (Microbiology, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin) and Dr. Michael Friedman (Philosophy & Mathematics, Cluster of Excellence “Matters of Activity”) gave lectures in the summer semester 2019.
Die Reihe wird fortgesetzt.
