FAIR IN ST. AGNES | KÖNIG GALERIE | 17.06.-26.06.2020

The KÖNIG GALERIE is organising the MESSE (FAIR) IN ST. AGNES in the former St. Agnes Church in Berlin-Kreuzberg – of course in compliance with the current safety regulations. It is the first art fair in the premises of the KÖNIG GALERIE, which gallery owner Johann König is organizing with a lot of own initiative.

ART at Berlin Koenig Galerie - Messe in St Agnes -

On display are over 180 works by artists such as Katharina Grosse, Alicja Kwade, Wolfang Tillmans, Gerhard Richter and Andy Warhol. All works are for sale and many of them come from private collections outside of Berlin. It is one of the gallery’s most elaborate projects to date.

Over 180 works of art by, among others, Elmgreen & Dragset, Alicja Kwade, Neo Rauch, Daniel Richter, Isa Genzken, Martin Kippenberger, Otto Piene and Katharina Grosse will be exhibited and offered for sale.

In mid-June, ART BASEL will present its second fair in the format of an online viewing room, after the physical art fair was cancelled due to current restrictions. KÖNIG GALERIE will not only present its digital appearance, but will also show its Art Basel selection in real life at the Chapel of St. Agnes. In addition, the gallery’s Saleroom will present saleable works from the 20th and 21st centuries from the primary and secondary markets. Some selected works will be shown in the Online Saleroom at www.koeniggalerie.com as well as via the gallery’s app.

The fair is complemented by the culinary offerings of the starred restaurant Nobelhart & Schmutzig and a stand of the Walther König bookstore. Buchhandlung Walther König, founded in 1969, is a publishing bookstore for art and art studies, architecture, applied arts, design, fashion, photography, film and art theory as well as for exhibition catalogues. Walther König is the uncle of the gallery owner Johann König.

IMPORTANT NOTES: Due to the current situation in connection with the Covid 19 epidemic, the fair can only be visited after booking a ticket (10 / 8 Euro). The gallery only allows a limited number of visitors into the premises at the same time. There is a strict ban on photography.
